Welcome to
The Heartbreak Club
For the brokenhearted. The book-obsessed. The ones who fell too hard for someone who doesn’t exist.
Welcome to The Heartbreak Club
Membership: involuntary, eternal, and absolutely worth it.
This is the place for all of us who’ve fallen—hard—for the fictional characters who ruined real-life dating forever. The brooding ones with haunted pasts. The golden retriever characters with secret scars. The warriors, the scholars, the morally questionable-but-devastatingly-loyal. We meet them on the page, lose ourselves in their stories, and then... close the book and grieve. Because they don’t exist. Not really. (And if they do, they’re already taken by the author’s muse.)
The Heartbreak Club is our soft landing—a dreamy, emotional archive of the fictional characters we’ll never stop swooning over. This isn’t just a tribute. It’s group therapy. It’s sacred space. It’s where we whisper, They’re not real... but what if they were?
July
Name: Gideon Sharpe
Book: The Crimson Moth / The Rebel Witch by Kristen Ciccarelli
Vibe Check: Gideon Sharpe is all shadowed honour and slow-burn devotion — loyal to the wrong side, torn between duty and heart, and so obviously not as heartless as he pretends to be.
Why They Broke Us: He’s the bookish girl’s poison: unreadable at first, unforgettable forever. The moment he let his mask slip, we were ruined.
Most Swoonworthy Line: “If this was weakness, he wanted to be weak. If this was sin, let him be damned to hell.”
Swoon of the Month
Because one fictional love interest is never enough.
Every month, we crown the one.
The one who ruined our standards, redefined devotion, and made us spiral into the group chat at 2AM whispering, “I can’t move on.”
Maybe they’re battle-scarred and brooding.
Maybe they bake.
Maybe they hold your gaze like it’s a vow, say “I’d burn the world for you” — and mean it.
Whoever they are, they’ve left a permanent mark on our hearts (and reading history), and we’re here to swoon together.
This is our collective crush.
Our emotional support character.
Our monthly love letter to the one who made fiction feel too real.
One book. One heartache. Unlimited delusions.
Nominate your Swoon of the month
Have a name on your heart? A fictional love who lives rent-free in your soul?
We want to meet them.
💌 Nominate your Book Love of the Month
Think of it as a love letter—a way to honour the one who made your heart ache in the best possible way. The one who saw every scar and called them stars. The one who made you believe in impossible, all-consuming love.
Send us their name. Tell us why they matter. We’ll light a candle, build a shrine, and swoon together—because no one should suffer in silence when they whisper it like a vow.
